Thanks for the updates! Looks like Marc Koller has dropped out of the District 2 council race (per his website).

These monthly summaries are /a true public service/. Since Portland's new proportional electoral system has attracted a very large number of candidates (a very good thing!) but is non-partisan (preventing like-minded candidates from establishing common brands within and across districts separate from the "major party" labels), it takes tremendous effort to keep track of whether each candidates has signed or not signed which specific pledges or if they otherwise say they stand for or against various positions. I'm grateful for all that's being done, tracking-wise.

Can it be expanded to a table with columns for each of the pledges and other issues and rows for the candidates by district? In a proportional non-partisan election with many candidates, voters needs an unbiased volunteer central information hub to which they can turn to compare candidates. Newspapers sometimes used to perform this funtion but not until late in the campaign - and that was in the days when papers could afford to print more pages.

Thanks for reading, Gary! We are working on expanding our candidate coverage with a greater overview of endorsements, pledges, etc. Stay tuned for a new look in May!
