I will not vote for any candidate against the camping ban. in what world is leaving an unwell population to rot on the streets humane? Or progressive? I find this reprehensible.

Hayes is an interesting candidate, but this is quite a statement to make. Basically, if we want to question or minimize police presence, we have to expect the police to be petty and vengeful, even at the possible risk of people's lives. Don't get me wrong - I think he's right - but there's something very wrong with the system when that's what you have to campaign on.

“Our community is tired of mistreatment, but we're also tired of what happens when the issue of policing becomes polarized,” Hayes says. “When we defund the police, guess what happens? Officers say, ‘Okay, hope y'all like this. Hope it works out for y'all.’ And then when our community needs protection, the police won’t respond,” he says.

Avalos is a status quo candidate, reminds me of a Hardesty or a JVP. If you like what has happened to Portland over the last 5 years she’s your gal. Otherwise take a look at Terrence Hayes and Noah Ernst.
