Hey, Rose City Reform Reader!

We usually keep our emails to a minimum out of respect for your inbox, but we thought you’d be interested in our new Stump Talk podcast. Why? Because it’s election season, and what better time to dive into politics? From now until November and beyond, we’ll bring you engaging guests with fresh and often contrasting perspectives on Portland’s landmark election.

In our inaugural episode, we sit down with Sophie Peel, City Hall reporter for Willamette Week, and Shane Kavanaugh, who covers City Hall for The Oregonian. Together, we delve into the candidates and key themes shaping the 2024 election. Please note, the opinions expressed belong to the guests and do not reflect those of Rose City Reform.

Our goal for this podcast is to make you the political insider, whether you’re a democracy nerd like us or simply want to get better informed about your choices on the ballot (spoiler: there will be many!). And a heads-up: this episode contains a little profanity, but we think you’ll find it all in good humor. Let us know what you think! We sure had fun recording it.

Special thanks to Jon Garcia, who edited this episode. Stay tuned for more political commentary as we embark on this historic journey together.
